Earl R. Nelson, age 81, of Worthington, Wednesday, May 27, 1998 at Riverside Hospital. Preceded in death by parents Robert L. and Hildur (Olsen) Nelson and wife Caroline G. (Herrs) Nelson. Survived by wife Barbara (Jones) Nelson; sister, Marion Linnemann; children, Carol (Larry) Bogan of Westerville, Robert (Connie) Nelson of Lima, Oh.; grandchildren, Matthew and Bethany Bogan, Nathan and Benjamin Nelson; step-children, Dr. Fred T. Hofstetter of Newark, Del., Mary Ann (Bob) Vidourek of Canyon City, Oreg., Robert (Susan) Hofstetter of Huntington, W. Va., and Dr. Linda (Jim) Nolan of Dublin, Oh.; 11 step-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Member Gethsemane Lutheran Church. Veteran WW II 2nd Infantry Division. Retired after 42 years service from Western Electric Co. Member Telephone Pioneers of America. Funeral service 10 a.m. Saturday May 30, 1998 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 35 E. Stanton Ave. Columbus eith Rev. Fred Wiese officiating. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home 515 High St., Worthington. Burial Walnut Grove Cemetery.
