SCHMIDT James E. Schmidt, 81, of Columbus, Tuesday, February 20, 2007, at Westminster-Thurber Community. Preceded in death by wives Dona Mendenhall Schmidt and Nancy Valentine Schmidt. Survived by sister, Sr. Rita Maureen Schmidt; children, Teresa (Doug) Ballantyne, Michael, Mort (Nancy) and Tim Schmidt; grandchildren, Amy (Robb) Titchell, Steven (Tina) Ballantyne, Karl and Eric Schmidt; great-grandchildren, Katy, Andy, Ryan, Bella and Jared. Member of St. Francis of Assisi Church. Veteran WW II, U.S. Navy Sea Bee's. Member of Columbus Chippers Woodcarving Club. Retired from McNally Lumber Company after 33 years. Funeral service 10 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2007, at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 515 High St., Worthington, Oh. Fr. Ron Atwood officiating.
