Obituary

Joan M. Williams, age 78, a 37 year resident of Worthington, died Monday, May 31, 1999 at Kobacker House following a courageous battle with cancer. Preceded in death by her husband Thomas P. Williams; parents Elmer and Rose DeMase and grandson David C.Von Eckartsberg. She is survived by daughters, Jody Williams of Dublin and Cheryl Williams of Columbus; grandchildren, Heinz "Bear", Lauren and Alex vonEckartsberg, all of Dublin and many special friends. Though a woman of many talents and accomplishments, she felt her greatest sources of joy and satisfaction were her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. Joan was a mother and grandmother that everyone wishes they'd had. She was a long-time employee of The Baggerie at Worthington Square Mall and member of the American Cancer Society, Worthington Historical Society, Worthington Senior Center and St. Peter's Church, 6899 Smokey Row Rd. where a Memorial Mass will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 10, 1999, Rev. Richard C. Weyls, Celebrant. Private interment will be held for the family at Walnut Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may make memorial contributions to Kobacher House-Hospice at Riverside/Grant, 3595 Olentangy River Rd., Columbus, OH 43214, in Joan's memory.
