Obituary

WELCH John Francis Welch, age 85, Wednesday, November, 11, 2009 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. A generous, caring and giving man, who valued education. He served his country during WWII in 3 theatres, and was past Commander of Worthington VFW Post 2398. A devout Catholic, he lived his faith in his service to others. He is preceded in death by sisters Ann Hager, Catherine Kleinshrot, and son-in-law Larry Hanna; and is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jeanne; daughters, Marie Hanna, Beth Welch, Kathleen (Alan) McGillivray, and Peggy Welch; sons, John (Ann), James (Margaret Mary), Brian (Amy); 12 grandchildren; and his sister, Sr. Mary Peter, S.J.S.M.. He was employed by and retired from Ashland Chemical. Friends may call Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 4476 N. High St. (two blocks north of Henderson Rd.) 268-8811. His Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, 10 am at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 20 E. Dominion Blvd., Fr. Kevin Kavanagh, celebrant. Interment Walnut Grove Cemetery.
