Obituary

Lester L. Thompson, age 67, of Columbus, died Monday, January 11, 1999 at Kobacker House. Retired mail clerk with the U.S. Postal Service after 30 years. Preceded in death by parents William and Carrie Nell Thompson, brothers Robert and Walter, sister Marlene. Survived by wife, Margaret; 4 step-children; sister-in-law, Nancy Thompson; nieces, nephews, a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and cousin, John Beatty. Member of St. John AME Church where Lester sang in the choir and ushered. Veteran U.S. Navy, Korean Conflict. Funeral Service 10 a.m. Thursday, January 14, 1999 at Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home, 515 High St. Worthington. Rev. Hurdie Billingslea Jr. officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Burial Walnut Grove Cemetery.
