Worthington High School Orchestra
Basic details
Background
The Worthington High School Orchestra ca. 1927 is pictured here. Note the male students in the first row toward the either end wearing the fashionable combination of plus fours and argyle socks. These new styles were popularized by the Prince of Wales. The girl on the far right, first row, is wearing similar legwear for women that became popular in the mid-twenties.
This photograph includes sophmore classmates Ralph Williams and Robert Driggs, seen fourth and fifth from left in the second row. An automobile/train accident took the lives of both boys on May 8, 1928. Ralph served as freshman class president during the 1926-1927 school year at Worthington High School. Robert served as sophmore class president for the 1927-1928 school year.
