Background

Weltha M. Pinney Steinacker (b. 1840, d. 1923) was a grand daughter of Scioto Company proprietor Azariah Pinney. Her parents James Pinney and Ester Walker Pinney kept a farm on the west side of the Olentangy River south of Worthington. Weltha became a school teacher and moved to Columbus, operating a kindergarten from her home on Denison Ave. She also taught at the Worthington Female Seminary.
