Background

The Old Rectory was moved from 799 Hartford Street to its present location at 50 West New England Avenue in the summer of 1978. Employees of various agencies including the City of Worthington, Ohio Bell Telephone Company, Columbus and Southern Ohio Electric Company and Warner Cable-TV worked together to ensure that signs, overhead wires and trees were removed from the path. Removal of wires along W. New England Ave. caused power outages in downtown Worthington during early morning hours.
