Background
Flint School was built in 1924 by the Sharon Township School District. A three room building, each room served several grades. One room held grades one through three, another grades four through six, and the third room grades seven and eight. Flint School was merged into the Worthington School District in 1949. The school closed in 1963. Students attending the school were set to Wilson Hills Elementary, Worthingway Middle School, Kilbourne for ninth grade and Worthington High School. The City of Columbus purchased the school and property with the intention of turning it into a recreation center; however, the building was razed in 2011.
