This picture of the Bicentennial Charter Oak was captured at the Worthington Bicentennial Homecoming on July 5, 2003. It is located on the front lawn of Thomas Worthington High School. The first Bicentennial Charter Oak planted in May 1976, was a gift in honor of the nation's Bicentennial from the Worthington Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). When the tree was vandalized the following year, Worthington High School students raised funds to replace it. The Charter Oak was rededicated in May 1977.
