Background
James F. Wright (b. 1860, d. 1934) is pictured seated on a bench. He was the son of early Worthington residents James P. Wright (b. 1827) and Louisa H. Wright (b. 1832). James F. Wright graduated from Worthington High School in 1881. He was a prominent businessman in the community, owning and operating a hardware store located on the west side of High St. in the downtown business district north of New England Ave. He was a member of the New England Lodge No. 4 and a charter member of the local Eastern Star Lodge. He married Nellie Starrett Wright (b. 1861, d. 1911) in 1895. They had two sons Arnold M. Wright and Theron H. Wright. James F. Wright remarried in 1925 to Margaret Kline Wright.
