Receiving Jeffers Mound Artifacts

Background
Dr. Richard Yerkes (Department of Anthropology, The Ohio State University), Jane Trucksis (Curator, Worthington Historical Society) and Harvey Minton (Mayor, City of Worthington) are pictured with artifacts from the Jeffers Hopewell Prehistoric Mound. Artifacts were uncovered during the excavation of the Mound in 1985 by the Ohio State University Field School in Archaeology under Dr. Yerkes' supervision. Located by Plesenton Drive in Worthington, the mound and surrounding land donated to the Worthington Historical Society in 1974. The site was nominated to the National Register of Historic Places.
