This is one in a series of articles on the history of Harding Hospital. Included in the newsletter distributed to hospital employees, the articles were written by Ellie Jones, Harding Hospital archivist. This article focuses on two of the buildings on the hospital campus that were known as Oakmont and Ashlawn. Oakmont served as a residence hall, a school and a day treatment program facility. Ashlawn began as a chicken coop, then was remodeled into a residence cottage and later a nursing office and day treatment program facility.
