The photograph shows attendees making crafts at a Family Fun Night at the Worthington Park Library. The program was for families of Worthington Park and Slate Hill elementary school students. The library had opened a month earlier, on April 16, 2008.

In addition to the Old Worthington and the Northwest Libraries, the Worthington Park Library is the third location operated by the Worthington Libraries, and it primarily serves patrons in the northeast part of the service district. It was installed into an existing space at the Worthington Park Shopping Centre.

On July 17, 2007, the library board approved a resolution to appropriate funds to open a storefront library. On December 17, 2007 the library signed the lease for the space in the shopping center and construction commenced on January 22, 2008. In 2013, the library was expanded to include a larger children’s area, an audio-visual collection and an enclosed Homework Help Center.
