Background
This postcard features a signed headshot of John W. Bricker used in his 1932 run for Attorney General of Ohio. Born in Mt. Sterling Ohio, Bricker resided in Columbus for much of his life and was married to Worthington resident, Harriet Day. Bricker served in World War I and also acted as a member of the American Legion, the Board of Trustees of Defiance College, and the Buckeye Republican Club. He was also a member of the law firm of Postlewaite and Bricker in Columbus.
After his successful bid for Attorney General of Ohio, Bricker went on to serve three terms as Ohio’s governor, then served in the U.S. Senate from 1947-1959.
