Background

This photograph of Edward G. McCullough (b. 1908, d. 1982) is from the scrapbook of his mother Harriet Griswold McCullough with photographs from 1915. Born in Worthington, he and his family lived at 202 East Granville Road around the time this photograph was taken, before moving to Lane Avenue for his school years. Later, along with his parents, he operated the Eldridge School on South Street according to a 1947 Worthington News article. After the death of his parents, he continued operating the school, and resided at 269 East South Street according to a 1952 Worthington Directory. A 1961 newspaper article mentions his return for a visit from Shelbyville, TN where he ran the Eldridge School and that he made the trip to Worthington to attend services at St. John's Episcopal Church. He is buried at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
