Background

This photograph of Abner Eli (b. 1903, d. 1974) and Lella Decker Pinney (b. 1903, d. 1987) was taken by Bill Rutherford in their dining room at a Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home staff Christmas party. The couple were married in 1933 and lived at 39 West Granville Road.

A Columbus Dispatch article dated March 1st, 1961 stated, "Abner E. Pinney, lifelong resident of Worthington and a licensed funeral director and embalmer, will serve as manager of the new Rutherford-Corbin funeral home in Worthington, William P. Rutherford, the firm's president disclosed Friday. Mr. Pinney has been associated with the S.E. Corbin and Son funeral home for 32 years."
