This Polaroid photograph shows Rachel Alexander (left) and Marian Stearnes (right).

Rachel was the homebound librarian for Worthington Public Library, and was visiting Marian, who was a homebound patron, in her home. Stearnes served as a nurse in World War I, and had attended school at Western Reserve University, the precursor to Case Western Reserve University.

Worthington Libraries began providing homebound services in 1968, bringing books and other materials to patrons who are unable to visit the library.
