Background

This black-and-white photograph shows players from the Worthington High School Cardinals varsity basketball team during a home game against Whitehall-Yearling High School in the 1969-70 season. John Snouffer is shown jumping with the ball in the foreground; a player from Whitehall reaches for the ball. Behind them, Cardinal players Julian Goode (left) and Dick Brough (center) can be seen, along with additional players from Whitehall.

Under the coaching of Pat Mannion, the Cardinals achieved a 17-3 record for the season and captured the Ohio Capital Conference League title. Brad Forward led the team with a total of 284 points scored, and John Snouffer held a close second with a total of 260 points.
