Obituary

Donald Smith, World War II veteran, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and lifetime Buckeye fan, surrounded by his family, entered into God's kingdom on June 6, 2014. Don, who worked and retired from The Columbus Dispatch, was an animal lover, an avid sports fan, a loyal Democrat, spirited story teller and the trusted friend of many. Don is welcomed into Heaven by his wife of 51 years Ann Smith. He survived by his family, Doug Ankrom, Laurie Ann Smith, Jeff, Lauren and Jackson Raycher and The Nic Miller family. A private service will be held for his family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made on Don's behalf to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
