The Worthington Human Relations Council was formed during the 1960s by Worthington citizens. The organization's purposes, defined in the Constitution, were to encourage the recognition of equality of all persons, to conduct educational programs relating to human relations and their importance to community life, to improve communications among ethnic, racial, socio-economic and age groups, and to prevent and relieve problems of human relations in housing, employment and other areas caused by discrimination.
