Program for the Worthington High School Production of "The Fabulous Fable Factory"
Basic details
Background
This is the program for the Worthington High School production of "The Fabulous Fable Factory" by Joseph Robinette with music by Thomas Tierney. The play was presented on April 28, 29 and 30, 1978, at Evening Street Elementary School.
The cover shows an ink drawing of a gear and a line of people in striped shirts, with the words "WHS Thespians Present The Fabulous Fable Factory" above the drawing and "April 28, 29, 30 Evening St. School 8pm Fri, 2pm Sat, Sun" below the drawing. "1977-1978" is written in the top right-hand corner. Page two lists the cast; page three lists the production staff and committees; and page four lists personal and business patrons.
The production was directed by Bronwynn Hopton, who taught drama at Worthington High School/Thomas Worthington High School from 1973-2013. In 1988, she founded the Worthington High School Theatre Repertory. Countless alumni cite her influence for their love of theater, or even their professional success in the field. An October 24, 2010 "Columbus Dispatch" article quotes her as saying, "Theater is not just a superfluous after-school event, but something we study that deserves the same focus as science, math or history. " Her first name graces the Bronwynn Theatre at the McConnell Arts Center.
