Program for the Worthington High School Production of "Oklahoma"

This is the program for the Worthington High School production of "Oklahoma" The play was presented on March 6, 7, 13, and 14, 1981, in the Main Campus Auditorium.

The cover shows an ink drawing of two horses pulling a buggy with two people seated in it with the title "Oklahoma" in stylized text above it and "1980 March 1981" hand-written in the upper right corner. Page two contains an advertisement for a local business. Page three contains the text "Worthington High School/Music Department/presents/Oklahoma/Music by Richard Rodgers/Book and Lyrics by/Oscar Hammerstein II/March 6, 7, 13, and 14, 1981/Main Campus Auditorium." Pages four and five contain more local advertisements. Page six lists production staff and special thanks. Page seven lists Orchestra members. Page eight lists the cast. Page nine lists the chorus. Page ten lists scenes and contains another advertisement. Page eleven lists musical numbers. Page twelve lists ushers, properties, costumes, lighting, sound, stage crew, and set construction. The production was directed by Bronwynn Hopton, who taught drama at Worthington High School/Thomas Worthington High School from 1973-2013. In 1988, she founded the Worthington High School Theatre Repertory. Countless alumni cite her influence for their love of theater, or even their professional success in the field. An October 24, 2010 "Columbus Dispatch" article quotes her as saying, "Theater is not just a superfluous after-school event, but something we study that deserves the same focus as science, math or history. " Her first name graces the Bronwynn Theatre at the McConnell Arts Center.
