Bessie I. Beard, age 103, formerly of 2339 W. Granville Rd., Worthington, Thursday, December 31, 1981, at the Will-O-Lock Haven, Daugher of Lena Mae Vining & Wayne Smith. Widow of John L Beard. Preceded in death by son Walter R. Beard. Survived by daughters Mrs. Rhea Henson, of Lexington, Kentucky, and Mrs. Charlotte R. Southard, of Worthington; 2 grandsons, Eric Henson, of Philadelphia, Pa., and Jan Henson, of Braintree, Mass.; granddaughter, Mrs. Barbara Hoecke, of Mechanicsville, Va.; 2 great-grandsons, Paul and Christopher Hoecke. Charter member of Linworth United Methodist Church. Past Matron of Worthington Chapter No. 287 O.E.S. Member of the Linworth Thimble Club. Funeral service 11:30 a.m. Minday at the Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home 515 High St., Worthington. Rev. Thomas E. Sagenborf officiating. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday.
