Walter (Gene) Gordon, age 63, of 2525-5 Gristmill Circle, Newport Richey, Fla., former resident of Worthington, died Friday, Nov. 25, 1983 at Community Hospital, Newport Richey, Fla. Retired Conductor for Conrail, 40 years service. Veteran WWII. Survived by wife, Elva (Toni) Gordon, Newport Richey, Fla.; son and daughter-in-law, Major Timothy L. and Caren Gordon, San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Tracey and Scott; brothers, William Pershing, Xenia and John Pershing, Columbus. Member of the Worthington United Methodist Church, Capital City Lodge No. 656, F&AM, American Legion Leasure Blackston Post No. 239 and Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. Funeral services 1 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 29th, Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home, 515 High St., Worthington. Dr. W. Edge Dixon officiating. Interment Walnut Grove Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday. Masonic service 8 p.m. Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
