Obituary

M. Elisabeth Gregory, age 45, merchant and human and animal rights advocate, died, February 1 in Los Angles. She was born in Flint, Mich., October 7, 1945, daughter of Donald J. and Margery M. Gregory. Survived by brother, Timothy E. Gregory of Columbus; and many friends. Attended Defiance, Oh., High School Defiance College, University of Toledo and Ohio State University. Editor of the Columbus Free Press, 1979-86, former owner of Trade Winds, owner of Byzantium and the King Avenue Coffee House, organizer of the Community Festival, founding member of the Bead Society of Central Ohio and the Ohio Beadwork Art Competition. There will be a brief service at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 12 at Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home, 515 High St., Worthington, followed by graveside service at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Monday, February 11. The family requests that, instead of flowers, contributions be sent to the M. Elisabeth Gregory Memorial Fund, c/o The Columbus Foundation, 1234 East Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43205.
