Wayland P. James, age 88, of Columbus, Monday, August 25, 1997 at Kobacker House. Retired from General Motors, Fridgedaire Division, Dayton, Oh. Active in bible studies and church activities. Past Board Member of Faith Mission. Was active in Refugee Settlement thru the Lutheran Social Services. Preceded in death by wife Irene P. (Stier) James. Survived by son, Richard L. James of Dayton; daughter, Dorothy A. James of Columbus. Funeral service 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 27, 1997 at Rutherford-Corbin Chapel 515 High St., Worthington, with Congregational leader Howard Silverman officiating. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday and again 1 hour prior to service on Wednesday. Burial Walnut Grove Cemetery.
