Cardinal '59
Basic details
Background
The 1959 edition of the Worthington High School “Cardinal” yearbook features photos of students, faculty, activities, sports, social events and candid snapshots. Glenn Williams was principal and Harold C. McCord was superintendent of Worthington schools; the yearbook includes brief biographies for them both. The senior class has their individual portraits included, while grades nine through eleven are featured in small group portrait photos staged around the school.
This edition highlights the Worthington High School’s addition of a music wing and a new club—the Interclub Council—which consisted of the presidents of all school clubs and the editors of all publications. The purpose of this club was to coordinate all efforts centrally. Also featured is the addition of an observatory to accompany the newly formed astronomy club.
