Worthington Libraries staff members Danna Armstrong (left) and Karen Laird (right) pose during the Northwest Library construction with the character of Wilbur, based on Garth William’s illustrations from “Charlotte’s Web” by E.B. White. The character became part of the Story Garden at the library. Groundbreaking for the library construction took place on September 13, 1994, and the new library's opening day was on April 16, 1996.
