Background
Capt. Levi Pinney (b. 1782, d. 1869) relates the felling of trees on Worthington's Village Green in the spring of 1803 at the age of 21. He was a member of the Scioto Company's advance party that accompanied James Kilbourn to the land in Ohio that was chosen for the planned community of Worthington.
