Leadership Worthington began in 1989 as a cooperative effort of the City of Worthington, Worthington Public Schools, the Worthington Educational Foundation and the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce, coordinated by Lynn Straker and Kathy Moore. The mission of Leadership Worthington is to enhance the understanding of leadership qualities and to develop individual and group leadership potential in order to create a better Worthington area community. Graduates complete a program which addresses the development of personal leadership skills, an understanding of municipal issues, the local school system, human services and volunteerism, multicultural issues, the local business community, and opportunities for becoming involved in areas to help improve the quality of life in Worthington.
