Glen Mary Bridge
Basic details
Background
A view of the Glen Mary trestle of the Columbus, Delaware and Marion Interurban shows a work train crossing over the ravine just north of Flint Road and Route 23 (High Street).
The CD&M Interurban was an important part of the transportation system in the 1900's, providing access to Columbus for those living north along High Street (S.R. 23). Glen Mary Park was a popular destination along the route, built to attract riders from both directions. Dance pavilions and picnic facilities were among its attractions.
