Background
New England Lodge No. 4 F. & A. M.'s float in the Bicentennial Homecoming Parade depicts a scene at an early meeting of the Lodge. Members portray James Kilbourn (Worshipful Master), Ezra Griswold (Senior Warden), John Snow (Junior Warden), and Azariah Pinney (Secretary). Furnishings on the float are original pieces from the Lodge's original meeting room ca. 1820. The float also featured a one-of-a-kind stainless steel square and compass measuring 6 feet in height, which revolved once per minute.
