Background

This photograph depicts the Johnson and Sessions family monument located at Greenlawn Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio. In this view two sides of the monument base are visible. On the left hand side is an inscription about children of Achsa and Orange Johnson. On the right is an inscription about G. Helen Maynard Metcalf (b. 1836, d. 1927) originally from Worthington and her son, William Park Metcalf (b. 1861, d. 1940), who was born in the District of Columbia. Helen Maynard was a daughter of Moses Maynard Jr., who migrated to Worthington from Massachusetts along with his father Moses Maynard Sr. Helen Maynard married William W. Metcalf (b. 1828) in 1859 in Worthington. They relocated to Washington D.C. where they raised their family.
