Background

The historic building known as the Old Rectory was moved from 799 Hartford Street to its present location at 50 West New England Avenue during the first week of July, 1978. It was purchased by the Worthington Historical Society in March to serve as offices, gift shop and exhibit space. The structure is pictured on a flatbed truck on East Stafford Avenue at the corner of North High Street where it sat throughout the day before heading down High Street towards New England Avenue at about 1:00 A.M. July 7.
