Background

This photograph was part of an album donated to the Worthington Historical Society by Ken Storer. Students attended the 7th and 8th grades at Homedale School in Worthington Ohio. Homedale was constructed in 1924 and was one of the first two Sharon Township consolidated schools, along with Minerva Park, that were built in the 1920s when the township began eliminating the one-room schools. This school was located in the Homedale Acres subdivision on a three-acre site. It was close to High Street and served workers at the Columbus Pottery Company. The consolidated schools were the first in the township to have electricity, running water and inside toilets, and central heating.
