Photograph of the Worthington Hills Water Tower With a Fresh Coat of Primer, 2020

This photograph shows the water tower on the Worthington Hills Country Club property as it appeared on September 10, 2020, freshly coated with primer before being repainted. A tarp surrounds the upper half of the spherical top of the tower. The tarp had been lowered completely over the tower to contain dust during the sandblasting process before it was covered in primer and fresh paint. This tower supplies water to the Worthington Hills neighborhood, and is owned and maintained by Aqua Ohio. The tower has been repainted a couple of times since 2000, but in 2020 the company sandblasted the tower and added new primer and paint. The tower was likely built in the early 1970s, and replaced a water tank that stood at that spot when development of Worthington Hills began in the early 1960s. This type of water tower is known as a "pedesphere" or "golf ball and tee" tank.
