Program for the Worthington High School Production of "Sleeping Beauty"

This is the program for the Worthington High School production of "Sleeping Beauty." The play was presented on April 26, 27 and 28, 1974, in the Kilbourne Auditorium at the high school.

The cover shows an ink drawing of a flag-draped trumpet bearing the title "WHS Thespians Presents Sleeping Beauty." "1973-1974" is written in the corner. Page two lists the cast; page three lists the crew; and page four lists publicity and program creators as well as directors, stage manager, costume design, lighting, special effects, piano accompanists, and acknowledgements.

The production was directed by Bronwynn Hopton, who taught drama at Worthington High School/Thomas Worthington High School from 1973-2013. In 1988, she founded the Worthington High School Theatre Repertory. Countless alumni cite her influence for their love of theater, or even their professional success in the field. An October 24, 2010 "Columbus Dispatch" article quotes her as saying, "Theater is not just a superfluous after-school event, but something we study that deserves the same focus as science, math or history. " Her first name graces the Bronwynn Theatre at the McConnell Arts Center.
