Background

This photograph shows the site of the Worthington Park Library prior to its construction and opening. The library was installed into an existing space at the Worthington Park Shopping Centre. In addition to the Old Worthington and the Northwest Libraries, the Worthington Park Library is the third location operated by the Worthington Libraries, and it primarily serves patrons in the northeast part of the service district.

On July 17, 2007, the library board approved a resolution to appropriate funds to open a storefront library. On December 17, 2007 the library signed the lease for the space in the shopping center and construction commenced on January 22, 2008. The Worthington Park Library celebrated its opening day on April 16, 2008 and was expanded in December 2013.
