Background

This photograph depicts the Worthington Female Seminary building while men are working to convert it into apartments in 1919-1920. The building had a checkered career after the seminary's closing. The Ohio Central Normal School used it until 1881, when it was converted into a residential hotel called the Park Hotel. It then became a sanitarium named Worthdale and finally apartments. Its increasingly poor condition led to its razing in 1963.
